Nearly a month after an evening shootout sent bullets buzzing through a typically peaceful Columbia-Savin Hill sidestreet, Boston Police returned to the scene last night and arrested two men while executing a search warrant.

Christopher Jordan and Bernard Solomon will each face drug distribution charges based on yesterday’s afternoon raid, which targeted the third floor apartment at the three-decker home at 10 Hallam Street.

That address was one of three homes on Hallam Street that were struck by gunfire on the evening of March 15, according to Boston Police records. Investigators found 21 shell casings on the street outside after they were called to the scene for reports of "shots fired."

At the time, detectives reported that they talked to a resident at 10 Hallam Street who told them that two unknown men had opened fire on his apartment from outside. Two other homes on the street were also hit by bullets that night. Witnesses said two men in grey hooded sweatshirts opened fire. No arrests were made.

Captain Richard Sexton, commander at Area C-11 police district, said today that the incident prompted an investigation that led to yesterday’s search warrant out of Dorchester District Court. Its execution was led by C-11's Drug Control Unit.

"Based on the incident on March 15th, we responded and looked into it further and that investigation resulted in a search warrant for drugs," Sexton said.

A police report shows that officers seized several bags of what they believe is hashish from the third floor residence. One of the men was also charged with driving on a suspended license and using a license plate on his car that is registered to another vehicle.
