Two women shot on Blue Hill Avenue, one fatally; three arrested

The Boston Police Department reports two women were found shot shortly after 8 a.m. on Saturday on Blue Hill Avenue.

One woman, found at Charlotte Street, was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The second woman, found near American Legion Highway, was expected to survive.

Police say not long after, they arrested three men spotted running from the scene. A gun was recovered a couple blocks from the murder scene.

Because Blue Hill Avenue was shut for the investigation, the Jouvert parade up Blue Hill, which at the time of the shootings had reached Talbot, was diverted down American Legion Highway and into Franklin Park.
