Mattapan teen one of three charged with murder of pizza delivery man

The Boston Police Department today charged Yamiley Mathurin, 17, with the murder of a delivery man found stabbed to death at a Roslindale house she and two accomplices allegedly broke into late Wednesday.

Mathurin, Michel Andre St. Jean, 20, of Hyde Park and Alexander Emmanuel Gallett, 18, of Hyde Park allegedly called for a Domino's pizza shortly before midnight from 742 Hyde Park Ave., then robbed and stabbed to death Richel Nova, 58, of Hyde Park.

Police say the three then stole Nova's car to get away. It was found the next morning about two miles away behind a church on River Street in Hyde Park.

All three are charged with murder, armed robbery and armed breaking and entering of a dwelling house.

"Richel Nova was a hard-working man, making an honest living to provide for his family when he was preyed upon by three vicious thugs," Police Commissioner Edward Davis said. "For a small amount of money, these suspects committed unspeakable acts of violence while showing Mr. Nova no mercy. The criminal justice system should equally show no mercy in determining their punishment."

The three are scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in West Roxbury District Court.
