The Boston Police Department reports that two 18-year-olds were shot shortly after midnight, Thursday, at Blue Hill and Geneva avenues.

One of the teens was pronounced dead at the scene, the other was taken to Boston Medical Center for treatment.

In a statement, police said this was not a random shooting and that "both victims are known to police.
