The Boston Police Department reports a man was fatally shot around 4 a.m. on Saturday in front of 19 Floyd St.

The man, a black male in his early 20s, was rushed to Boston Medical Center, where he died several hours later.

Police say the man was lying in the middle of the road when officers arrived, and that the first police knew of the shooting was when the city's ShotSpotter system detected the sound of gunfire.
