Triple shooting at Uphams Corner restaurant leaves two dead

Boston Police say an argument at the Ka-Carlos Bar and Grill, 33 Hancock St., ended in a hail of gunfire that left two dead and one injured early this morning.

One man, 47, was pronounced dead inside the restaurant, police say. The Web site ForCV identifies him as Manny Monteiro, a chef who was working two jobs to put his daughters through college, and who formerly worked at Phillips Old Colony as a sous-chef.

A second man, 20, was found around the corner at 8 Bird St. with multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. A third victim, 23, got himself to Boston Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg.

In a statement, Boston Police said, "According to witnesses, an altercation began inside the premise. Witnesses further stated that as the altercation moved its way outside, witnesses say they could hear shots being fired."
