The Boston Police Department reports officers responding to a report of gunfire around 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday at 332 Harvard St. first had to wait for firefighters to douse the flames in a first-floor apartment.

Once inside, police say, officers discovered two gunshot victims. A man, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman, 34, was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
