Mayor Menino will celebrate the grand opening of “All Hands on Deck: A Sailors Life in 1812,†a new exhibit at the USS Constitution Museum.
Saturday, July 4th
9:00 AM Independence Day Celebrations
City Hall Plaza (near flag poles)
Mayor Menino will commemorate the Independence Day with an official ceremony on City Hall Plaza, followed by a short parade down Tremont Street to the Old Granary Burial Ground where wreaths will be placed by the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company on the graves of Samuel Adams, John Hancock, Robert Treat Paine, and Peter Faneuil.
10:30 AM Independence Day Exercises at Faneuil Hall

Mayor Menino will welcome guests on behalf of the City of Boston to the annual Independence Day Exercises at Faneuil Hall, a tradition since 1783.

COUNCILOR SAM YOON:
Sam rounds out the week with community celebrations for the 4th of July. On Saturday morning, he will participate in the Independence Day flag raising ceremony on City Hall Plaza, and then attend the Cape Verdean Independence Celebration later that afternoon. On Sunday, also at City Hall Plaza, he will stop by Chowderfest.
Later on Sunday, he will join his volunteers canvassing Roslindale on Sunday afternoon. Another cohort of supporters will canvass Mission Hill.
