A Dorchester man with a long record for breaking and entering was arraigned yesterday on charges related to the dozens of purloined items from suburban homes police say they found in his apartment during a search earlier this summer, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office says.

Craig Cromartie, 44, was formally charged with ten counts of receiving stolen property, the DA's office says. Dorchester District Court Judge Robert Tochka set bail at $5,000 and rejected a request from prosecutors to revoke his bail on outstanding stolen-property charges out of Middlesex, Norfolk and Worcester counties.

Police raided Cromartie's Dunkfeld Street apartment in June after arresting him for three B&Es in Framingham, the South End and Brookline that police say netted him upwards of $330,000 worth of jewelry, computers and other goods.

Inside Cromartie's apartment, police recovered "designer handbags, electronics, jewelry, collectable coins, and clothing believed to have been stolen," the DA's office says, adding investigators eventually linked the goods to housebreaks in Arlington, Brookline, Framingham, Medford, Newton, and Waltham through 2011 and early 2012.

Cromartie may face additional charges may be forthcoming.

The DA's office says Cromartie has a 27-page record with adult convictions starting in 1985, for everything from breaking and entering to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and uttering, in five Massachusetts counties.
