Gov. Deval Patrick spoke with reporters on Tuesday, who asked what he plans to do with the sentencing/habitual offender bill on his desk: "I've said before, I think it's a good bill. It's not a great bill. There's a lot of work that has not yet been done, and I'm hoping I can get from the leadership a commitment to come back and do some of it at the beginning of the next session."
After an event in Codman Square, Mayor Thomas Menino was asked what Patrick should do. "Sign it," he said.
