Rite Aid to be re-branded as Walgreens on Dot Ave

An ownership change will soon result in a branding change at the Rite Aid store at 1100 Dorchester Ave. The store and pharmacy at the corner of Savin Hill Avenue will be switching to a Walgreens as part of a sale of select Rite Aid stores to the rival chain.

A Walgreens’ spokesperson told the Reporter that the store will be undergoing a transformation over the next month and will officially become a fully branded Walgreens store on May 3.

“The store already has a Walgreens pharmacy, and at the end of this process it will have Walgreens interior and exterior design and point of sale and pharmacy systems,” the spokesperson said.

The Dorchester store is one of 1,932 Rite Aids that were sold to Walgreens.
