Four dead in shootings since Friday in Dorchester and Mattapan

A gas-station attendant in Codman Square, and men on Mildred Avenue and Itasca Street in Mattapan were fatally shot on Saturday and Sunday, coming after another man was shot to death near Uphams Corner on Friday.

An attendant in his early 60s at the Fabian gas station on Washington Street at Melville Avenue was shot during a robbery attempt around 11:35 p.m. on Saturday, the Boston Police Department reports. Boston Police report the man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

A short time after the shooting, police stopped a man on Dorchester Avenue and Centre Street who matched witnesses' descriptions of the shooter. Kevin Williams, 21, is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday in Dorchester District Court on murder and other charges.

The Boston Police Department reports a man in his 40s was shot at 18 Mildred Ave. in Mattapan around 2:30 a.m. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Around 11:30 a.m., police say, a man was fatally shot at 88 Itasca St., near Currier Street.

Police report arresting Kai Harris, 26, of Brockton; he will also be arraigned Tuesday in Dorchester court, police say.

The shootings come after a double shooting left one dead Friday evening near Uphams Corner.
