The Boston Police Department reports one man was fatally shot and another was stabbed in an incident around 2:10 a.m. on Sunday at 227 River St. in Mattapan.

Both victims were in their 20s, police say, adding the shooting victim was pronounced dead at the scene while the stabbing victim was taken to Carney Hospital and is expected to survive.
