Mother's Walk for Peace plans route to City Hall on Sunday

The 20th annual Mother's Walk for Peace, launched as a fundraiser to support the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute in Fields Corner, will expand its scope this year and lead thousands of marchers from Dorchester to Boston City Hall. The walk will begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday at Town Field, its traditional starting point in Fields Corner. The walk will wind through Dorchester streets before setting out into Roxbury, the South End and Government Center, with a second entry point at Roxbury's Madison Park High School.

The pledge walk has grown into a much larger annual event to support citywide efforts to support survivors of homicide and prevent further violence on city streets. The Reporter is a media sponsor of the walk and produces the annual walk guide, which is inserted into this week's Reporter and is available here.
