Want to learn how to save someone’s life? Codman Square Health Center (CSHC), in partnership with Victory Programs, is offering free overdose training and overdose kits to the community.
The Naloxone Training will be on Thursday, November 10 from 6-8p.m. in the Black Box Theatre at Codman Square Health Center, 14 Epping St., Dorchester. Instruction on the use of nasal naloxone in the case of an overdose, as well as distribution of both nasal atomizers and naloxone solution, will be given to all in attendance. This training will also help attendees to recognize the signs of opioid overdose.
Attendees will have the option to anonymously register and be provided with a naloxone kit. Additionally other risk reduction related items such as safer-injection kits, safer sex kits, and incentive and receptive condoms will be available. Information will be available on additional services provided at Codman Square Health Center.
This event is free of charge. It is the first of a series of events funded by Tufts Health Plan’s Dorchester Health Initiative (DHI). CSHC will produce a series of educational events around substance abuse for the community.
