A two-year-old boy reportedly managed to make his way out of his daycare center, climb four flights of stairs, and open a door leading to the roof of 131 Columbia Rd., a Four Corners apartment building, from which he fell to the ground below earlier this morning.

That is the story as told to the Reporter by City Councillor Tito Jackson on WEdnesday afternoon.

Boston EMS responded to the scene just before 10 a.m., said Boston EMS Lt. Richard McCready, and transported the boy to Boston Medical Center’s pediatric unit, where he succumbed to his injuries in the early afternoon.

Boston police and fire officials are investigating the incident as is the city’s Inspectional Services Department.
