Man stabbed at birthday party

The Boston Police Department reports a man was stabbed around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday at a birthday party at 112 Magnolia St.

Police say officers initially arrived to investigate reports of shots fired. "On arrival, officers observed a large group of partygoers leaving the area," police say in a statement. "Officers observed broken bottles on the ground outside and a window to the building damaged. Officers entered the building to conduct a premise inspection. While inside, officers observed a male, in his twenties, who was suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center and is listed in stable condition."

Police say trouble started when some uninvited guests refused to leave. Police did not say if the stabbing victim was an invited or uninvited guest.
