A man was fatally shot in the head and a woman wounded inside the Universal Barber Shop and Hair Salon, 436 Geneva Ave. around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Around 11:45 p.m., meanwhile, a person was shot in the back outside 44 Humphreys St. in Uphams Corner.

The shootings comes the night after two men were shot on Devon Street - one of whom managed to get himself to Boston Medical Center despite a neck wound so serious the homicide unit was called in just in case.
