Then and possibly now

The FBI has launched a campaign to find John J. Hartin, a Dorchester man who fled the area after being charged with five counts of statutory rape in 1993.

The FBI says there's a $25,000 reward for whoever provides information leading to Hartin's capture. According to the FBI, Hartin "is wanted for allegedly abusing two young children he befriended," specifically, two boys, then 8 and 9.

Hartin today is 42 and 5'8" tall. At the time he fled, he was 200 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was working as a security guard, but had studied graphic and computer arts in college. Hartin, born and raised in Dorchester, "should be considered armed and dangerous," the bureau says.
