Three arrested for overnight home invasion

The Boston Police Department reports busting up a home invasion at 153 E. Cottage St. near Edward Everett Square shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

According to police, officers responding to a report of a man with a gun surrounded the house. A man tried to flee, was pursued through several backyards and then brought down after what police described as a violent struggle. Police recovered a white zip tie, two phones and a large amount of cash after subduing him at E. Cottage and Columbia Road.

Back at the house, officers heard screaming, burst inside and found two more suspects hiding upstairs, along with a gun and a mask, police say. Another gun was found on the house's porch. Initial reports at the scene were that the victim had been pistol whipped.
