Teaching assistant at Harbor Pilot Middle School to face charges of inappropriate behavior with student

The Boston Police Department reports it will be charging an assistant at the Harbor Pilot Middle School with lewd and lascivious behavior for an incident involving "a disabled, non-verbal student."

In a statement, police said: "Detectives from the Crimes Against Children’s Unit continue to actively investigate this incident to determine the potential for additional charges. In addition, detectives are conferring with experts in non-verbal communication to address the complexities associated with this case."

Police did not specify what led to the charge - and others they said they may bring - but WBZ reports the mother said the aide sexually assaulted her son, and that the worker has been put on paid leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
