At least eight Boston Fire Department vehicles responded to a house fire this morning at 161 Sydney St. in Savin Hill. The two-alarm fire began around 10:45 a.m., sending a large plume of smoke across the Southeast Expressway and doing heavy damage to rear of the single-family house and a car parked in the back yard. Fire officials say everyone was safely evacuated from the building. Traffic is currently being redirected around the area.
