A mental-health patient charged with brutally murdering a counselor at his residential facility in Revere apparently drove to Ashmont a few hours before he was apprehended in Roxbury.

Deshawn James Chapell, 27, of Chelsea, is charged with murdering Stephanie Moulton, 25, and dumping her body in a church parking lot in Lynn.

Boston police officers this afternoon recovered a PT Cruiser near 1400 Dorchester Avenue that may have been used by Chapell to flee Lynn.

The Boston Police Department reports Chapell was arrested tonight at 30 Rockland St. in Roxbury.
