Police charge man, pals with beating, threatening girlfriend's former boyfriend

The Boston Police Department reports a man who went to see his girlfriend and their child last night wound up getting beaten, dragged through the street and threatened with a knife by her new boyfriend and two accomplices Monday night.

Police say that when the victim arrived at the home of the woman he thought was his girlfriend at 158 Quincy St. in Grove Hall around 11 p.m., she informed him she was seeing somebody else: "He started putting together his belongings to leave when he was confronted by the suspect and his two friends who assaulted him by punching and throwing him to the ground. Per the victim, the suspects continued to punch him after throwing him to the ground and dragging him through the snow with the [main] suspect at one point pulling out a knife and threatening him by staying, 'I should kill you!'

Police say that when officers arrived, Rodney Simmons, 19 of Roxbury, was still there and identified by the victim. He and alleged accomplices Clayton Knight, 23, of Mattapan, and Quamaine Minnifield, 21, of Brockton, were arrested and charged with assault and battery and assault by means of a dangerous weapon.
