Police: Sudan Street residents chase down, capture burglar

Boston Police report a Sudan Street resident awoken by a loud noise early Tuesday morning went downstairs to find a man standing there.

The homeowner yelled at him and the alleged burglar tried to flee, but had difficulty getting out of the house because it was locked, police said. The man then smashed through the glass part of the door, but the homeowner and his son chased after him and managed to tackle him and hold him until police arrived.

Kevin Murphy, 27, was arrested on a charge of breaking and entering in the nighttime and willful and malicious destruction of property.
