A Waltham man with a long criminal record pleaded guilty to a series of crimes over the course of one night across Dorchester last fall.

Ricard Feliciano was sentenced to 18 to 20 years in state prison after pleading guilty to armed robbery, robbery of a person over 60, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, larceny, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, and unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office says.

According to prosecutors, Feliciano, 39, started his evening by stealing a retired Ohio police officer's mini-van at the Courtyard Marriott in South Bay - along with the man's loaded 9-mm gun.

After crashing the vehicle nearby, he grabbed the gun and ran away, but then decided to stop on Dorchester Ave., where he knocked on the door, told the homeowner he was a truck driver and asked if she could move her car so he could turn his truck around.

Feliciano then pointed the gun at her and demanded the keys to her Jeep - threatening to take her 12-year-old daughter if she didn't comply. Felicano crashed the Jeep about two minutes later on Stoughton Street in Uphams Corner as police closed in on him; he proved unable to evade them on foot.
