October 12, 2009
The mayor does not get the day off, filling his day with a pair of events at Christian Science Plaza and BC. Councilor Flaherty lists only a "house party" in Dorchester. Maybe he and Sam Yoon will don Kid 'n Play wigs and have hi-jinks, but they're probably just fund-raise.
MAYOR THOMAS MENINO:
10:00 AM 8th Annual Opening Our Doors 2009
First Church of Christ, Scientist Plaza, (intersection between Mass Avenue and Huntington Avenue)
Mayor Menino will speak the annual event that marks a cultural tradition in Boston. The Mayor designated the Fenway as a cultural district in 1998. Many of the cultural offerings are free of charge, making them ideal to visit for a few hours or an entire day.
12:00 PM Mayor’s Cup Hockey Tournament Finals
Boston College, Conte Forum
Mayor Menino will greet and take pictures with participants after games at the tournament that attracts youth from across the city. Teams compete over two weekends in October and the top teams play at Boston College for the title of “Boston’s Best.†The Boston Bruins co-sponsor the tournament.
COUNCILOR MICHAEL FLAHERTY:
4:00 p.m. – House Party
Dorchester
w/ Sam Yoon
Agendas are provided by the Menino and Flaherty campaigns and laboriously pasted here by Lit Drop staff. Please note that plans can change on the campaign trail at a moment’s notice, but we do our best to keep it up to date.
