Campbell to leave Mattapan for South Coast town of Dartmouth

Attorney General Andrea J. Campbell and her family are moving out of Mattapan for a new home in the South Coast Massachusetts town of Dartmouth in the new year. Campbell, who represented parts of Dorchester and Mattapan as a city councillor for three terms before running for mayor of Boston in 2021, informed supporters about her plans in an email last Friday (Dec. 13).

Calling the decision both “exciting” and “bittersweet,” Campbell said she and her husband Matt and their two children “will always be connected to D4 and plan to frequently visit my extended family who will remain in Mattapan and the countless life-long friends we have made there.

“This decision was not an easy one,” she wrote, “but after significant prayer and meaningful discussion and reflection, we ultimately decided that it was the best decision for our family.”
