Mayor Menino will greet students, families, and sponsors from Cradles to Crayons during the annual Back-Pack-a-Thon. The Mayor will then help hand out backpacks filled with supplies to thousands of local school children, with a total of 20,000 backpacks being distributed as part of the event.

Mayor Menino will join executives from State Street Bank to congratulate participants of the bank’s summer jobs program. The City of Boston worked with the Private Industry Council to find jobs at area companies like State Street for thousands of the city’s teenagers.
