Two men, one 69 and the other 47, were beaten by a group of teenagers just outside the entrance to Shawmut MBTA station shortly before noon on Monday, according to Transit Police who responded to the scene. The assaults happened in close proximity to one another and the perpetrators are thought to be the same group.

“In each instance the group of males produced a knife and demanded money from the victims,” said MBTA Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan. “When the victims did not comply, both victims were struck about their heads with closed fists by the group. Both were treated on scene by Boston EMS and released.”

Transit Police detectives are “actively investigating both of these incidents, Sullivan said. No arrests have yet been reported.

A woman from Dorchester was to be arraigned this week for allegedly stabbing another woman during an altercation at the Mobil gas station on Blue Hill Avenue just before 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Globe reported that the suspect— 22-year-old Quasaia T. Smith— was “forcibly removed from her vehicle” by Boston Police. Her young child, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to a Boston hospital as a precaution, the newspaper said.

The victim in the knife attack, a 33-year-old woman, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A Boston Police officer was also injured during the incident.
