Mayoral hopeful Michael Flaherty's campaign is pressing for more debates. The campaign had 150 volunteers out this weekend, passing out flyers that hit incumbent Mayor Thomas Menino on debates, or rather the current lack thereof.
Menino has agreed to three debates -- two before the September 22 preliminary election and another before the November final election -- but details are still getting hammered out.
Kevin McCrea, a South End businessman who is also running for mayor, has also hit the mayor, accusing him of dragging his feet.
City Councillor At-Large Sam Yoon's camp has been content to let McCrea and Flaherty take the lead on the debate over debates. They have instead pointed to a series of "town hall" meetings they're setting up, including one on July 28 in Mattapan and another one planned for Grove Hall.
