Ventura Park upgrades now slated for 'early summer' completion

Construction continues this spring on improvements to Ventura Park.

A playground modernization project at Ventura Park in Lower Mills continues this spring as contractors hired by the state’s Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) work to complete work by early summer.

Troy Wall, a spokesman for the DCR, said Monday that the while “original scope of the playground project only included its construction, the agency decided to move forward with several additional components” at Ventura.”

This includes upgrades to pathways, an enclosure for two portable toilets, new park benches and a bike rack. The $250,000 project was funded in a state budget request pushed by Sen. Linda Dorcena Forry and Rep. Dan Cullinane.
