Admission is free, but reservations are required

The latest installment of WGBH/PBS’ The American Experience series — Freedom Summer— debuts with an exclusive screening at the Strand Theatre on Monday, June 23 at 6:30 p.m. The hour-and-a-half long screening focuses on the Freedom Riders, Jonestown, and The Murder of Emmett Till— all extraordinary events in the Civil Rights experience from 1964.

Following the screening WGBH host Callie Crossley will moderate a discussion with filmmaker Stanley Nelson and special guests, including Bob Moses, field secretary for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and co-director of Freedom Summer. Tickets are free, but an RSVP is required.
