POLL HAS WALSH UP: A UMass Amherst poll has Walsh with a 7 point lead: "With leaners included, likely voters prefer Walsh over Connolly 47 percent to 40 percent, a lead that is outside the 5.9 percent margin of error for the poll. With less than a week to go in the campaign, 13 percent of likely voters remain undecided." Suffolk University will likely release its own poll in the coming days. POLLSTERS CAN'T WIN: A poll has a candidate up, and his opponent's supporters go berserk, trashing the poll. Days later, another poll has the opponent up, and supporters dismiss it. Megan Costello, Walsh's campaign manager, blasted out this email yesterday, noting that the UMass poll gives them their first lead of the election: "There is no doubt that we have real momentum on our side – but we also know that this is going to be an incredibly close election. It's going to come down to who can turn out their vote." Connolly's camp sends its own email, pushing GOTV: "Marty doesn't have to worry, I'm going to keep running the positive campaign I've been running since day one. And we cannot allow his negative campaign to fool the voters."
