The Sept. 24 preliminary is 23 days away.

-- This came in from the Marty Walsh campaign last night: “We believe we will report $383,000 for the month, which puts us in the vicinity of $1.1 million since the start,” said Joyce Linehan, a campaign adviser. “Of that total $862,000 or 75.4% is from individuals.” The Globe’s Stephanie Ebbert reports today that City Councillor At-Large John Connolly raised $245,077. More here. Separately, the Globe's Andrew Ryan finds that American Working Families, an outside group, plans to spend $175,000 running a pair of television commercials for Walsh. WBUR's David Scharfenberg reports that Suffolk DA Dan Conley will run an additional four ads before the prelim "with focus on education and innovation economy."

-- The Bay State Banner’s Mel Miller pens an editorial basically telling three candidates of color – City Councillor Charles Yancey, TOUCH 106.1 FM co-founder Charles Clemons and Roxbury Republican David James Wyatt – to drop out of the race. “It is time for minority candidates who have not made much headway in their campaigns to consider closing down,” he writes.

-- Ira Jackson, the dean of UMass Boston’s McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies, has interviewed 11 of the 12 candidates running for mayor. Each interview is about a half hour. UMass Boston is also hosting a mayoral forum on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. The Boston Neighborhood Network is airing its interviews with the candidates, called "Meet the Next Mayor."

-- Former state Rep. Charlotte Golar Richie touted several endorsements at a Thursday night fundraiser in Dorchester. A release from her campaign, issued Friday evening, lists the endorsers: former state Rep. Doris Bunte, former state Sen. Bill Owens, former state Rep. Shirley Owens-Hicks and former state Rep. Royal Bolling, Jr.

-- City Councillor At-Large Felix Arroyo will be at the McCormack Housing Development in South Boston on Monday, unveiling a plan dubbed "Pathways Out of Poverty." The event starts at 1 p.m. at the corner of Devine and Logan Way.

-- Several candidates got together to play 3-on-3 basketball. Mayoral hopeful John Barros tweets that his team, which included City Councillor At-Large Arroyo and Jaden, a 12-year-old, won 15 to 7 over the team that included City Councillor Michael Ross, Savin Hill’s Bill Walczak and City Councillor Rob Consalvo.

-- Boston’s Elections Department has a bit of fun as it seeks to raise awareness about the Sept. 4 registration deadline. The department tweeted out a picture that played on the popular HBO show, “Game of Thrones.” (In a separate tweet, the department adds they appreciate people's "creativity with adhesives but please don't seal [voter registration] forms with bandaids,hot glue or ducttape."
