Joining the thousands of folks expected Sunday at Adams Corner's third annual Irish Heritage Festival will be two of the Bay State's political superstars: US Sen. Scott Brown and the former Obama administration official angling to replace him, Elizabeth Warren.

Brown, who marched in the Dorchester Day Parade in June, will be dropping by the Eire Pub at 1:30 p.m. According to Brown's schedule, former Boston Mayor Ray Flynn will be joining him.

People familiar with planning for the event told the Reporter on Friday they expect Warren, one of several candidates angling for the Democratic nomination, to also visit the area. Her timing -- and whether she will end up crossing paths with Brown -- remains unclear. (UPDATE: She's expected to be there at 2 p.m.)

While the event is supposed to be non-partisan, the festival has often drawn politicians eager to shake the hands of potential voters from Dorchester, Quincy, and Peabody, among other municipalities. At last year's festival, all three candidates for governor -- Deval Patrick, Charlie Baker and Tim Cahill -- made appearances, guided by neighborhood sherpas.

This year, district and City Council At-Large candidates are expected to attend.
