Today's the day to City Council hears the Meals tax increase proposal Mayor Menino put forth a few weeks ago. Menino himself may still be out delivering recycling bins to people in Dorchester at the 2:30 p.m. start. Councillor Flaherty will be in Ianella Chamber for the hearing, and I assume Councillor Yoon will be as well, (even though his schedule has not been made available yet.)
MAYOR THOMAS MENINO:
11:00 AM Recycle Bin Delivery to Dorchester
12 Lombard St., Dorchester
Mayor Menino will deliver big belly recycling bins to Dorchester as part of the City’s new single-stream recycling program that allows residents to bundle all of their recyclables – from glass bottles to cardboard boxes – in one container.
5:30 PM Mayor Menino’s Annual Garden Contest Awards Ceremony
Boston Public Garden
Near the George Washington Statue
Mayor Menino will join residents from all over Boston for the Garden Contest Awards Ceremony. Fourteen years ago this annual contest was developed to recognize those Boston residents who work hard to beautify their homes and their neighborhoods by planting flowers, trees, landscaping and in general, to improve their own small piece of Boston.
