Mayor Menino will relax with campers and camp councilors during one of their weekly Friday BBQs. Now in its third summer of operation, Camp Harborview, provides over 600 of Boston’s inner-city youth with four weeks of summer day camp for just $5.

Mayor Menino will celebrate Villa Victoria’s 36th Annual Betances Festival with thousands of South End residents and local leaders, as they enjoy food, dance, music, and locally made crafts. Established in 1973, the festival celebrates the life and achievements of Dr. Ramon Emeterio Betances, a 19th century Puerto Rican patriot, poet, doctor, abolitionist, and artist.

7:30 PM Groovin’ to Motown Annual Benefit for Four Corners Main Streets
Vietnamese American Community Center, 42 Charles Street, Dorchester

Now in its 8th year, this signature fundraiser for Four Corners Main Streets treats guests to an evening of dancing and a silent auction. Mayor Menino will join guests, including Rep. Marie St. Fleur, to help auction off items to benefit the Four Corners Main Streets district.
