Mayor Thomas M. Menino will greet owners of new businesses, several of which have already benefitted from financial and technical assistance from the City's Office of Business Development.

10:30 AM Ribbon Cutting at the Franklin Hill Housing Development
99 Shandon Rd., Dorchester

Mayor Menino will cut the ribbon on 266 newly completed affordable units at the Franklin Hill Community Development today. In addition to new apartments, the development includes smoke free housing, a community space that will hold a Boys & Girls Club and food pantry, and a new park.

Mayor Menino and Boston Public Schools Superintendent Carol Johnson will announce major grant awards to further expand arts and music programming in the Boston Public Schools.
