Mayor Menino will join Mike Durkin, President and CEO of United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley, and the Thrive in 5 Leadership Council to announce a $1.5 million grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Mayor Menino will meet participants of a six-week program at the White Stadium Youth Sports Center. The program teaches Boston youth between the ages of 7 and 14 sport fundamentals and how to make healthy lifestyle choices.

On Thursday, Sam will attend a rally and standout for Mass Senior Action, an organization advocating against state cuts that impact cost of living for seniors. That evening, he will stop by a campaign visibility in Roxbury Crossing before speaking to and taking questions from residents at the West End Civic Association meeting.
