In web video, Yoon makes plea for cash

With the deadline for August campaign finance reports looming, mayoral candidate Sam Yoon is asking supporters to throw some dough his way in a last-minute web video.

The report is the last before the Sept. 22 preliminary election, which will narrow the field of four – Mayor Thomas Menino, City Councillor At-Large Michael Flaherty, Yoon, and South End developer Kevin McCrea – to two candidates.

“And we need this report to show that we are strong – and we are. Especially as we go into September,” Yoon says while seated at a desk, with a picture of Franklin Roosevelt and a 1960 Kennedy for President bumper sticker. “And I don’t have the same kind of money that my opponents do. Special interest money, corporate money. But I have you.”

(He’s probably not talking about McCrea, who gave himself a $35,000 loan in July.)
