All five employees of the JFK Library who were laid off last week have been rehired, Director Alan Price confirmed.
“We’re all thrilled to have the team back,” Price said.
The rehired staff work in ticketing and visitor support, and their pay is covered by admissions fees and not federal funds.
The JFK Presidential Library closed briefly last week after the sudden firing of five workers amid the Trump administration's dismissal of employees on probation.
In response to WBUR's inquiry, the JFK Library Foundation released a statement: “As the Foundation that supports the JFK Library, we are relieved that all five of the JFK Library staff members who were let go last week have been reinstated. They are all critical to Library revenue generating operations, which can now resume as normal, and it is wonderful to have our valued colleagues back.”
