Man fatally stabbed in Peabody Square; police make arrest

A man found suffering from stab wounds on Friday night in Peabody Square later died from his injuries, according to Boston Police, who arrested a 38-year-old Dorchester man for the murder on Saturday.

Officers were called to the scene at 1879 Dorchester Ave. at 9:59 p.m., according to a Boston Police account of the incident, which offered few other details about the circumstances. Police shut down streets around the scene for a couple of hours after the initial call and response.

"The victim was transported by Boston EMS to a local hospital where he was pronounced [dead]," police said.

The name and age of the victim has not yet been released by authorities.

On Saturday, detectives arrested David Adams, 38, of Dorchester, who police say matched "the description of the suspect from last night."

Adams is expected to be arraigned for the murder in the Dorchester division of Boston Municipal Court on Monday.
