Cannabis store proponents in Adams Corner to hold virtual Q&A

CNA Stores, the Amesbury-based cannabis retailer hoping to open an establishment at 540 Gallivan Blvd. in Dorchester, will host a virtual “Ask CNA Stores” event on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. for Dorchester residents who are 21 years or older. Rob Dijazio, CEO of CNA Stores, and his team will be available to talk about the project and answer participant questions.

"We want Dorchester community members who are interested in learning more about our team and our business to have that opportunity," said DiFazio." COVID has made it difficult to have face-to-face meetings, so we decided to offer a virtual Q&A session."

The business’s potential move to the retail space next to College Hype has been met with some pushback in recent weeks, including at an Ashmont-Adams Civic Association meeting last month, at which some residents voiced opposition to having a pot shop in the neighborhood. CNA representatives have organized this virtual event as a way to continue that dialogue with community members.

"We recognize that people may have concerns about this industry, which is a new concept to many," says Scott Winters, Director of Business Development and Community Outreach. "We have some ideas about how we can work together to address existing issues like parking and security, and we are open to feedback from our neighbors."

Those who are 21 years or older can register to attend the virtual meeting through the following URL address: http://bit.ly/CNAdot.

For those who cannot attend, the CNA Stores website (www.cnadorchester.com) contains background information on the CNA team as well as frequently-asked questions (FAQs). Two petitions on the site invite Dorchester residents to sign either a "Letter of Support" or a "Letter of Non-Opposition."
