BC High president to stay in post as search committee seeks successor

Bill Kemeza, the president of Boston College High School, who was set to retire at the end of this academic year, will instead stay on in the leadership role for an additional year, according to the school’s board chairman. The decision comes after a presidential search committee settled on a final candidate, but then — according to John McQuillan, Jr. — was “unable to conclude” terms of a contract. Kemeza has served as a teacher and administrator at the Jesuit high school on Morrissey Boulevard for 34 years.

“Bill has pledged his continued skilled and enthusiastic service to the school, while the Board-appointed Search Committee continues to recruit his successor,” said McQuillan.
