State Police report that a Volvo S60 flew off I-93 near the Morrissey Boulevard exit, landing on a Honda HR-V on Morrissey Boulevard, around 12:40 a.m. on Sunday.

The driver of the Volvo, a Chatham man, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda, a 21-year-old woman from Dorchester, was taken to Boston Medical Center and is expected to survive, State Police say.

State Police say investigators are trying to determine how and why the Volvo went airborne.
