Man indicted for May crash that killed teen cyclist on Talbot Avenue

A grand jury indicted a Dorchester man for manslaughter last week in the death of an 18 year-old cyclist who was struck and killed on Talbot Avenue last May. Gregory McCoy, 27, was allegedly under the influence and fled the scene of a collision that caused fatal injuries to Fritz Philogene and injured two other people at the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Norwell Street just after 10 p.m.

McCoy was also driving recklessly and without a license, according to prosecutors, who say that McCoy fled the scene on foot, leaving a bloody trail behind him. Witnesses helped lead police to the suspect, who was arrested at his home on Wentworth Street.
