#BosMayor Round-Up: Sept. 25, 2013

41 days to the Nov. 5 final. State Rep. Marty Walsh and City Councillor At-Large John Connolly start a sprint to the finish on Wednesday after receiving the most votes out of a field of 12. Both have their day jobs to attend to: On Beacon Hill, the state Legislature will be in full formal session in the afternoon and likely take up a tech tax repeal bill. A new member of the Dorchester delegation will be sworn in as well: Dan Cullinane, who won the 12th Suffolk House seat in a Sept. 10 special election. Inside City Hall, the 13-member Council will meet at noon. The agenda includes the proposal for a casino at Suffolk Downs and a Nov. 5 referendum, as requested by the Suffolk Downs group.

The Dorchester Reporter pages on the two candidates, with links to the newspaper’s questionnaires and BNN videos, can be found here and here.

ODDS & ENDS: The New York Times offers this take on last night’s results…..Before the polls closed, WGBH’s Adam Reilly interviewed Mayor Menino on his way into Santarpio’s in East Boston…..District 4 Councillor Charles Yancey, who came in 10th place, quietly made some small cable TV ad buys last week. He had two ads: “All talk” and “Gets it done.”
