STATE HOUSE, BOSTON, JAN. 31, 2012…..Governor’s Council member Kelly Timilty of West Roxbury, who served under five governors on the panel that vets judicial nominees, died early Tuesday morning after a brief illness, a council official said Tuesday.

Timilty, 49, was first elected to the council in 1994 and last attended a council meeting on Nov. 16.

“She was a tireless campaigner and seemed unbeatable at election day,” council secretary George Cronin said. “Her time at the State House involved service under five different governors who were unanimous in considering her a friend and ally.”

“I’m deeply saddened by the loss of Kelly Timilty. She was a dedicated public servant and a kind and decent human being. I offer my condolences to the Timilty family,” said Councilor Terrence Kennedy.

Timilty attended St. Gregory’s Grammar School in Dorchester. In 1986, she graduated from the University of Maryland. She worked on the staff of the late Congressman Joseph Moakley.
