As part of its commitment to supporting science education, GBH has awarded graduates from Dorchester and Mattapan $2,000+ awards through the Paula S. Apsell Scholarship Fund:

Dorchester’s Tai Vinh Phuoc Phan, a graduate of Boston Adult Technical Academy, will attend UMass Boston, and Funmilayo Ogungbemi, a Mattapan resident and graduate of the John D. O’Bryant School of Math and Science, will be attending Boston University.

The scholarship application process is open to all Boston public high school seniors planning post-secondary education In the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The scholarship’s namesake is senior executive producer emerita of the science series NOVA, which is produced by GBH and seen nationally on PBS.
